Congratulations to our QMS Veterans Day poster contest winners! We had some amazing posters again this year. The most important thing is always making sure to honor our veterans and appreciating the freedoms that we enjoy thanks to them.

The 7th grade Orioles made the long trip to Springport on Monday night to take on the Spartans. Quincy came out with high intensity on defense, which helped initiate the fast break for easy buckets. Talon Thomas, Kye Dirschell, and Brody Murphy sparked the first half in terms of scoring. Quincy ended the first with a 18-2 lead. The Orioles did not slow down in the second quarter, moving the ball up the floor quickly and finding open teammates. In the second quarter four different Orioles scored baskets to keep pushing the lead going into half up 32-8. Coming out of half Quincy's offense went cold for a few minutes until Davin Musielewicz drained a 3 pointer to give the team some needed energy. After three quarters of play the Orioles were up 38-12. In the fourth quarter the gym exploded with roar after Myles Beaudin knocked down a 3 pointer while the time was winding down! Quincy went on to win with a final score of 43-19.
Scoring is as follows:
Talon Thomas: 16pts
Kye Dirschell: 9pts
Brody Murphy: 6pts
Jefferson Wright: 6pts
Davin Musielewicz: 3pts
Myles Beaudin: 3pts
The Orioles are back in action at home on Wednesday 11/12 @5:30!

The QMS Quiz Bowl teams competed today in the Big 8 Quiz Bowl. All three of our 8th grade teams performed well, with one of our teams taking 3rd. Only three points separated 1st and 3rd places. Congrats to Olivia, Haley, Madison, and Jayden! It's been a team effort of pushing each other in practice, so all three teams deserve credit!
Also, our 1-man 7th grade team took second. Way to go, Easton!

In 8th grade science, we have been investigating how force affects the velocity of objects with different masses. We love those hands-on opportunities!

On Tuesday November 4th, six Quincy band members travelled to Marshall High School to participate in MSBOA District XI Honor Band. These students were chosen as a select few from schools in St. Joseph, Branch, and Calhoun counties. They performed three concert band pieces at an evening concert after multiple rehearsals all day. They did a wonderful job representing Quincy and improving their musical performance! Congratulations!

Would you like to enjoy some delicious cheese curds (or other Culver's deliciousness), AND support the QMS Youth in Government kids raising funds to replace a grant that was removed from this year's state budget? Come enjoy dinner, or a dessert, between 5:00-8:00 on Monday night. Our kids will be there to help serve and help however they can. 15% of all profits go to our students and will help cover the extra $200 they each have to cover this year. Thank you!
Preston Farms helped our 5th graders today by supplying local feed options for their farm stock. This helped our students in studying properties of different substances and how those properties can be useful in science. Thank you Preston Farms!
QMS has some new friends in the Gun Lake area, namely Ms. Mina and Ms. Dot, who made the drive today to donate over 20 bags of plastic lids for our project of turning lids into park benches. Please see our news article on our website for more details. Wow, what an amazing day and example of working together that our kids got to experience today! Thanks again to the Gun Lake Area Women's Club (GFWC)!

Have a great morning and be safe on the roads.
QMS students got their first opportunity to shop at the QMS Pride Ticket Store. Needless to say, it was a success!

Next week is Homecoming Week! QMS is ready to have some fun and show our school spirit. Check out our theme for each day!

Some of our 5th graders were busy cleaning and prepping plastic lids for our "buddy bench" project. Mrs. McCullough believes we are over 8 pounds with this load. Keep the plastic lids coming!
