Today, Mr. Miller’s students found themselves trapped in a high-stakes science showdown! 🌪️🧠
They had to solve 15 weather-themed puzzles to "escape" before a fictional storm locked them in forever (or at least until the bell rang). 😱
Good news: the storm was kind enough to hit the pause button ⏸️—it won't officially "lock them in" until Monday. So they have the weekend to study... or maybe just nervously check the forecast. 😉
Stay tuned for updates from Escape the Storm: Part 2 coming Monday!

7th grade reviewed for a unit test on the book Tangerine using a break out activity. Congratulations to the winning teams!

In our continued effort to support our families and offer learning opportunities for parents, we wanted to share this webinar from the TRAILS program. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Suever.

Our 8th grade students enjoyed a trip to the Branch Area Careers Center today. They were able to choose two classes to explore and do some hands on activities. We want to thank the Branch Area Careers Center for hosting our students. We had a great time!

QMS is celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week with some fun dress-up days. We hope to see everyone participate. As always, if you or your child feel they need help with mental health, please reach out to us. To quote our Peer-to-Peer (P2P) motto, "Speak up. Reach out. End the doubt."

Reading while munching on popcorn is the best! Here are more pictures from today.

It's been a busy couple of days to end the week at QMS. Thank you to all of our families that came in for conferences and visited the book fair! We celebrated National Oreo Day and were blessed with dinner from our friends at Sunset Cove (which definitely helped with the long day). Today, kids got to enjoy reading and popcorn. Thank you, Mrs. Pearson, for scooping hundreds of bags of popcorn!

The QMS 7th/8th grade bands competed this afternoon in Marshall at the MSBOA Band and Orchestra Festival. They put on a great show and did an AMAZING job on their sight reading!

Wow, what an amazing first Red Carpet Tuesday with our friends from the Branch District Library! Students got to come get a Library One card, check out some fantastic books, enjoy some treats, and snap a picture on the red carpet. The pride seen in getting their first library cards was pretty amazing.

March is Reading Month is......BACK at QMS! ELA teachers have prepared our students for the challenges and excitement. All of our students received their calendars with the daily challenges. We are rolling out the red carpet for middle school books and their authors each Tuesday with our local library. We can't wait for the first visit tomorrow!

6th grade is carrying over the "love" for math from last week with a little Valentine's Math to practice ratios and percents. Delicious and educational!

Want to know why QMS kids are the best? We have 10 dedicated students who got up super early on the first day of midwinter break to travel to WMU for a math competition. On Valentine's Day, you've got to LOVE that! Good luck today to our Mathletes!
