The Quincy Band room received a donation of chairs today! Thanks again to Mr. Tissue for the help in getting them to us! Activities are picking up in the music program with the completion of Pre-Camp this week, and Band Camp taking place next week! The QMS staff and students brought back their annual competition this year with an EPIC kickball battle. Teams from each grade level got their chances against the staff with mixed individual results. However, the staff ended the game with a walk-off kick from Mr. Dunn to score Mr. Barnes with a fantastic headfirst slide. It was a great way to cap off a great school year before our awards next week.

QMS collected items to donate to the Sonshine Food Pantry as part of our Staff versus Student fundraiser and kickball competition.

As noted in the robocall and email many families have received in the last hour or two, we apologize for the delay on messaging for our middle school awards recipients. We worked out the kinks on our honor roll system and are proud to announce that we have just over 250 students receiving various awards (from honor roll to teacher-given awards). If you have a question about an award or message you received, please contact our office. We look forward to celebrating our QMS kids next Monday and Tuesday!

The students in the 5th grade STEM extension have been learning about pneumatic power. They designed a pneumatic rocket that could be launched using a “recycled” launcher. Our first design feature some early engineering leaders. Great job young scientists! *the class will start the redesign process this week.

QMS is excited to bring back the wonderful tradition of the Staff vs. Student game! This year, QMS teachers will be taking their students on in a game of kickball. See the attached flyers for more information and for how students can participate.

Happy Mother's Day! Thank you to all our mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, aunts, and everyone else who step in to fill those roles for our kids! We want all of our WarHammer Club kids to feel the love, so please enjoy the rest of their artwork. They did an impressive job in these, showing diligence and patience. Way to go!

Last week and this week, students have been hard at work painting up their Space Marines and/or Necron model for the Warhammer Club! They have been showing tons of creativity and enthusiasm for this new project!

We have added all the testing dates for the next few weeks to our QMS portion of the website. They are visible on the "Events" section after clicking on the Quincy Middle School option on the "Schools" dropdown menu. Also, the awards dates/times were posted last week. Just like our middle schoolers, our lost and found pile continues to grow! If you or your student may have lost an article of clothing (or two or ten), please check our table by the office. Anything not claimed by the end of the year will be donated. Thank you!
