Happy Mother's Day! Thank you to all our mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, aunts, and everyone else who step in to fill those roles for our kids! Dale and Mr. Suever wrapped up the week on Friday with our video. If you've ever wondered what life is like with middle schoolers, especially near the end of the year, this week's video exemplifies it!

We want all of our WarHammer Club kids to feel the love, so please enjoy the rest of their artwork. They did an impressive job in these, showing diligence and patience. Way to go!

Last week and this week, students have been hard at work painting up their Space Marines and/or Necron model for the Warhammer Club! They have been showing tons of creativity and enthusiasm for this new project!

We wrapped up April this week at QMS, and ready to get going into May. Here are this week's updates!

We have added all the testing dates for the next few weeks to our QMS portion of the website. They are visible on the "Events" section after clicking on the Quincy Middle School option on the "Schools" dropdown menu. Also, the awards dates/times were posted last week. If you have any questions, please let us know!

Just like our middle schoolers, our lost and found pile continues to grow! If you or your student may have lost an article of clothing (or two or ten), please check our table by the office. Anything not claimed by the end of the year will be donated. Thank you!

🌦️ Exciting Morning in Mr. Miller’s 6th Grade Science Class! 🌟
Today, our students had the incredible opportunity to interview Chief Meteorologist Ahmad Bajjey from CBS Detroit! They asked amazing questions about weather, forecasting, and life on TV—and got real-world insights straight from an expert.
Huge thanks to Ahmad for inspiring our future scientists! 👩🔬👨🔬

"A very special thank you to Crescent Comics and Games in Coldwater for donating 20,000 cards to our 5th grade Pokemon Club! The students drew thank you letters for the store and are now so excited to start building their decks! Thanks to this donation, they have endless choices of how they will become Pokemon masters!"

We had some warmer weather and some fun things happening at QMS this week. Check out our weekly video update!

5th graders celebrated Earth Day this afternoon. Together we were able to gather 3 large bags of trash.
After two mornings of MSTEP testing the students were able to enjoy the beautiful day and rest their brains after their hard work.
The teachers and staff are very thankful for their commitment to a growth and community mindset.

"The Warhammer Alliance Club kicked off to a great start, introducing students to the world of Warhammer and tabletop miniatures! Students put their skills to the test building a Space Marine and Necron Warrior. They looked over various painting schemes to get an idea for next week's goal: painting! Stay tuned for further progress and pictures of the results!"

It was a short week at QMS. We hope everyone enjoys the holiday weekend...and this week's update with Mr. Suever and Dale!

Good things in 5th grade science!
This week the science class introduced a tank of tadpoles into the classroom. Students are currently learning about ecosystems and this is a great way to incorporate a part of Michigan's ecosystem into our learning. Some of our tadpoles have been named (although we are unsure how to which one is actually Bob the next day). Students have asked so many great questions about tadpoles and frogs. They will continue to observe and learn about these incredible amphibians as we finish the school year.

The 5th grade Pokemon club kicked off on Tuesday, beginning these students' long journey to become Pokemon masters! We started our journey by checking out the very first episode of the show which premiered in 1997! They will soon be building their own decks and battling it out with friends during our new lunch time club!

The QMS Peer-to-Peer Team worked hard during their lunchtime today to put out some positive words of encouragement for our 8th graders, as they'll be taking the PSAT on Tuesday. We love the uplifting messages!

Congratulations to 7th Grade Students of the Month for March!

On Saturday, select 7th and 8th grade band students travelled to Gull Lake Middle School to perform at Middle School Solo and Ensemble. The students did a wonderful job and had a great experience. Good job on your performances and hard work!
Olivia Enbody, clarinet solo, Division I rating
Abbi Smith, clarinet solo, Division II rating
Brahn Heminger, flute solo, Division I rating
Kaelin Murray, trombone solo, Division I rating

Surprise, surprise...we have a guest star with Mr. Suever on this week's update. Nice work, Dale! We highlight our PBIS winners, wish good luck to our track team, and discuss other events from the week.

An update from Mr. Miller's 6th grade science class:
ESCAPE THE STORM
Status: NO ONE ESCAPED.
That’s right—15 puzzles, thunder crashing, brains buzzing... and not a single student made it out before the fictional storm hit.
The room? Still intact.
The students? Slightly frazzled, highly motivated.
The storm? Just chilling, waiting to strike again. (Apparently in the form of SNOWFLAKES this evening!)

Check out this week's QMS update video! We have a variety of fun tidbits from our first week back after break.
