Mrs. Miller's class had the opportunity to travel to Trine University to experience their “Impact your Future” day. Students had the opportunity to learn about different engineering degree options and job possibilities. Sessions included topics such as forensic science fingerprinting, biomedical engineering and making prosthetic fingers.
Quincy Community Schools has placed a bond proposal on the May 5, 2026, ballot, and we invite community members to learn more about what is being considered. Information can be found on our website (www.quincyschools.org/page/bond). The available information includes project details, estimated tax impact, and answers to frequently asked questions.
We also invite you to attend one of our upcoming community information meetings. The meetings will include a summary of facility needs, an overview of proposed projects, financial impact information, and building tours. Please join us on Monday, March 2nd, in the Jennings Elementary School Cafeteria and on Thursday, March 12th, in the Middle School Cafeteria. Both of the meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. We hope you will join us to learn more and ask questions. Community input and understanding are important as voters consider this proposal.

This week in Mrs. McLean's Probability & Statistics class, students designed and ran a Barbie Bungee investigation! They collected data from small-scale classroom trials, and used that data to create a prediction equation for how many rubber bands would be needed to get Barbie as close to the ground as possible without hitting it. Students then tested their predictions on a larger scale to see how accurate their estimates were.

We hope everyone is having a fantastic Friday! Yesterday, our QMS students (and a class from the HS) enjoyed having Alex Melendez from the Michigan Storm Chasers speak to them about weather and storm chasing. Alex presented on a variety of topics, ranging from how he became interested in meteorology and what that can look like for students, to weather phenomena and safety. The students were then given a chance to ask questions during a Q & A session. Alex made sure to answer everyone's questions, even the bonus ones as students were leaving.
Our students were amazing audience members and great scientific thinkers with their questions. The 5th and 6th grade teams enjoyed the first presentation, while the 7th and 8th graders participated in the second session. Alex was impressed by their attentiveness and questioning.
We want to thank Mr. Miller, our 6th grade science teacher, for setting this up. We also want to express our gratitude to Breco for sponsoring such a cool opportunity for our students!

Talk about strawberry sweetness! Students district wide were treated to a strawberry shortcake donut breakfast in celebration of Valentine's Day. May everyone have a fabulous weekend!!
QHS Bowling hosted former Big 8 rival and perennial powerhouse Jonesville on Monday at Midway Lanes for Senior Night.
The undefeated Comets took game one of baker play but the Orioles responded taking game two and overall totals for the boys. The girls battled hard and just missed capturing the wins in both bakers.
On the boys side it was all Jonesville in singles action with just two Orioles scoring. Tyler White shot 192 to get his Senior Night point, while Brody Carroll continued to cruise going 207 in game two to lead the O's. Quincy boys lost the match 22-8.
On the girls side, Elizabeth Craig went off for a season and career high 171 on her Senior Night. Joining in on the scoring was Brookelyn Parker with a 98, and Ally Janssen with a 181. In game two Parker scored again with a 85 while Janssen went 162. The O's dropped the match 25-5.
Quincy Bowling honored Seniors Elizabeth Craig and Tyler White who have been a huge part of the programs success. Also joining on Senior Night were "sub" bowlers Piper Craig and Brookelyn Parker. With a shorthanded team this season these two have filled in when needed and will continue to help as we head to Conference and Regional competition.
