Greetings from Quincy High School!
Welcome to the Nest!
My name is Karen Wegner, and I am honored to lead a school that is rooted in strong traditions while also preparing students for life after graduation. Every day I have the opportunity to work alongside exceptional educators, talented students and a supportive community that values excellence in education. Our graduation rate, one of the highest in our county, is just one of the ways this is exemplified!
My career in education has included teaching special education at elementary, middle and high school levels. In addition to previous administrative experience, I also have enjoyed coaching high school girls basketball. I earned my bachelor’s degree in special education from MacMurray College and my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University. My husband and I have four grown children of our own and enjoy spending time with family, reading, hiking and traveling. I am a firm believer in life long learning!
Quincy High School proudly serves more than 360 students. Our smaller class sizes help promote the support and relationships that foster great learning while also offering a wide range of academic and extracurricular opportunities. Students can choose from over a dozen clubs, multiple athletic programs, Advanced Placement and honors courses. Students participate in a yearly ‘Spring Fling’, a day of giving back to the community. We have valuable partnerships with Branch Area Career Center, Kellogg Community College and Trine University and a strong Early College program. We are committed to helping every student grow, succeed, and graduate ready for the opportunities and challenges ahead.
Please feel free to reach out if there is any way that we can help support your child or answer any of your questions.
Best Regards,
Karen Wegner
